Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website!
We honestly believe that the most important aspect of a successful therapeutic relationship is the connection between the client and the therapist. Each therapist has a unique style. Pain, stress, and difficult times provide some of the best opportunities to create meaning and hope.
Crystal Herring is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose specialty has been working with adolescents and their families for close to 20 years. Her experience spans inpatient, residential, and community-based programs, as well as private practice. She believes that treating clients in these vastly different environments has enriched the quality of her work and her perspective on life.
Crystal uses an integrative approach to therapy that is based on your unique strengths, individual needs, and circumstances. Her process is person-centered, reality-oriented and collaborative. Sessions tend to be focused on solutions, not problems. While at times it is necessary and useful to delve into the past, the emphasis tends to be more on making positive change in the present and future. Her therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and empathetic. You can expect to be treated with care and respect. You can count on authenticity, an objective and non-judgmental stance, and some gentle challenges when you find yourself “stuck”. There will also be a little kind humor thrown in when appropriate.
Mellisa Wright is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has spent the past eight years working at an inpatient crisis stabilization setting with adults. She specializes in emotional and physical regulation to help manage difficult situations, general stress and anxiety, depression and the reexperiencing of traumatic events. The work she does is collaborative and strength-based and believes that all paths taken in that room are meant to lead toward a future that brings hope and growth.
The mission of Mellisa’s therapeutic approach is to empower you. For healthy change to occur a healthy space that provides compassion, honesty and listening is essential. She listens well, and without judgment, but she does give practical support and clearly communicates with you what she is observing in your time together. She believes that no matter how overwhelmed you feel there are opportunities for health and growth, and there are techniques to help you better navigate this time of change.
Our hope is that therapy is a place for you to slow down, receive support and guidance, and better understand your experiences. Whether you are looking for long-term therapy to sort out past hurts, or short-term therapy to see your way out of a difficult situation we look forward to supporting you in reaching your goals.
